Christmas in Paris

Paris is a magical place but on Christmas it becomes even more exquisite.The Champs-Elysées is decorated for 2km every year with Christmas lights and other fascinating symbols of the holiday making it a breathtaking view. The huge Christmas markets are typical for the winter seasons in Paris. The various decorations and food that they offer makes them ideal for you to visit as they propose wood challets,mulled wine and handcraft toys. There are several annual holidays in Paris that a person should not miss and Christmas is one of them. The cheerful holiday spirit is everywhere. Even the shops on the big streets put up fascinating decorations stylishly combined with the clothes or products they offer. The boutiques in Paris have various holiday discounts and offer outstanding and genuine gifts.Their shop windows deserve to be seen. If you happen to be in Paris know that beside the usual tourist attractions there are intriguing Christmas markets like Christmas Market at the Montparnasse Tower, Christmas Market and Santa's Village at Saint-Sulpice and Christmas Market at Place de la Nation.
This is one of the best tourist attraction in Paris that does not need Christmas decoration. The simple lights make it magically beautiful.

The Amazing Race

Find out more about The Amazing Race http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race/ :}

The Amazing race is a reality TV game show which involves traveling all around the world and competing with people in order to get $1,000,000. It explores all aspects of traveling- from relaxing to full of excitment activities. The goal is to be better than the others and get faster to a "pit stop". Personally, I like it a lot because, though the people in the competition are constantly under a lot of pressure, they get to visit amazing places, explore various cultures.
The competitors travel in different transportation modes like planes,taxis,buses,boats and by foot. Their goal is to find a certain clue which then leads them to a place where various tasks awate them. If they are slow they arrive late which could mean they might be eliminated. The winners are the ones that, after there are only three groups left, get to the final pit stop first. Whoever wins gets $1,000,000 though if you ask me everyone in the shopw is a winner. They all get to visit both major tourist attractions like Grand Canyon and picturesque wilderness.
The Amazign Race has many versions like The Amazing Race Central Europe or the special family deitiion where instead of two people in a team there were four and they were all families.

I recently read Dan Brown's book The Lost Sign. It is a quite fascinating story that takes place in Washington D.C. In the book the writer constantly mentiones different works of art that are tightly connected to the events and the story. Some of them are the painted ceilings in Capitolia and exquisite pieces of architecture. I was so impressed with the way he descibed them that after reading the book I had this desire to go to Washington and see all those unique art works and visit the places where the main heroes of the book went . What I am reffering to when I share this experience with you is that art can often be a reson to travel. If you haven't planned your holiday and like Michelangelo's ides for example you should most certainly visit St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican city. If you admire the works of the brothers Eyck you should go to Ghent where one of their paintings is.
